Description
MWR Air Filters are built upon 2 decades of experience in developing and producing high performance air filters for road, race, and off road use.
This experience has been gained working with some of the biggest air filter companies in Europe in areas such as World MX, Dakar (bikes, cars and trucks), Moto GP, WSB, BSB, AMA and even Rallycross. The knowledge gained during this period was invaluable and led MWR to develop their range of performance foam filters.
To continue the trend of Combating restrictive and terrible emissions rules, MWR has Now developed an all new Filter system For your MV Agusta 3 cylinder bike! Based of their championship winning WSBK filter design, MWR spent many hours developing a filter that surpasses their original Designs! This new filter drops in Vertically inside the airbox (directions and pictures are posted below) and this will allow even better sealing of your airbox along with even more airflow!!! on top of that, They also now have a Duct Kit (MWR-AT-650) for your naked 3 Cylinder variants to replace those Horribly restrictive Intake pipes under the Front Tank covers (available below).
The High Performance air filter (MC-066-12) for road & race bikes
While the Air Splitter Plate was revolutionary, Evolution demands a change and through rigorous testing, MWR found that a giant "pocket" design was actually even better! By using multiple types of foam they can tailor the airflow coming in allowing even more air! No different fuel-mappings between internal & external or front & rear cylinders are needed now so you get the true and full potential of your engine! Clean and re-oil once a year.
The Full Race (RACE ONLY) air filter (MC-066-12-R)
Developed on the track, NOT on a dyno but in real life on bikes with Data-loggers being tested and developed in part with TOP Teams for ultimate performance. With new materials and a new design, protection is on the same level as the filters above, only for a shorter period of time before they must be serviced. It makes the bike stronger and smoother, therefore it saves tires and fuel. Check the air filter every race weekend and always start each race weekend with a well oiled filter. This air filter is not developed to reduce the inlet noise. Due to the design features of this filter we do not recommend it for road use.
The fueling on all three cylinders still needs to be be checked Individually. We recommend MWR's Velocity Stacks (MWR-VS-600) for Best Performance!
Installation Instructions:
Remove fuel tank to obtain access to the airbox ensure all pipes and leads are released before fully lifting the tank. The fuel pipe release is located on the left hand side behind the frame. The fuel pump lead is fitted directly into the fuel pump on the right side of the fuel tank base.
Remove all the retaining screws from the lid of the airbox please note the sensor on the left side has a serrated washer. Remove the air pressure sensor lead from the front of the airbox top and place it in a safe location.
Remove the original MV Agusta air filter, this can be achieved by simply cutting the filter into two parts if no longer required, alternatively remove the three bolt retaining the air tube to allow the original filter to be removed.
You are now ready to install the MWR air filter. You will see opposite the two air intakes two protruding flat vertical plates. The plates are to be used to secure the MWR filter into its correct design location with the dome to the rear of the air box (WSBK filter).
Place the MWR filter into the location pictured , ensure the location points on both sides of the filter and securely mounted into the two vertical plates by dropping it into position , the four bent hooks on the filter must hold the filter in place. You will see a lip on the base of the airbox ensure the filter is placed at the front to complete the fitment of the filter fully.
Once completed simply reverse the procedure.
