Description

MWR really outdid themselves with this filter!

Always on the hunt for more power and protection to keep the Factory Racing teams worldwide happy, MWR discovered that on most of the “big 1000cc bikes” the OE filter surface was simply too small, and that regardless of which filter you install, you always have a kind of restriction (a bottleneck, basically).

The MWR “R” filter has consistently offered the best power overall compared with all other aftermarket sports filters, but now with the cooperation of several top teams (Kawasaki (KHI), MV Agusta, and other WSBK and MotoGP teams (that due to contractual agreements must remain nameless) they have developed a new style of airfilter called simply WSBK that increases the filter surface enormously. On the F3, it's 3% extra fuel compared to the MWR Racefilter MC-061-12R.

On the F3, the Surface area is increased by over 60%, on the GSXR 1000, 1199 & R1 the increase is 90-100% !!!

More / bigger surface area means less restriction and better protection, but the real secret of the new WSBK filters is that it uses two different kinds of foam materials. The part where the logo is printed is foam material used for our roadbikes (more dense), the rest is the foam material for the full racefilters (less dense), placed to create the same effect as the splitter-plate on the “HE” & “R” filters.

Tests up to now show average gains of at least 6.5HP over the MWR “R” filters.

The WSBK filters are currently in use by the following top level teams and riders:

WSBK Champion Tom Sykes ( 2 years in a row now) and Jonny Rhea on the Kawasaki ZX10R, 2014 World Endurance SBK Championship winning team of Yamaha GMT 94, MV Agusta World Superbike team, Ryuichi Kiyonari (BSB), IOM TT Winner Micheal Dunlop on the BMW S1000RR, AMA Superbike team TPL Corse (Ducati), Double 899 Cup Champions (BSB) Carl Cox/P&H Motorcycles and Dani Rivas (CEV Superbikes, BMW), BMW Motorrad Italia with Sylvain Barrier, and several more that we can't legally name.

Air box not included, filter only

Be careful when you slide the filter down that you not damage the foam and that the foam is behind the barrier, if necessary help with your hands.

The fueling on all three cylinders still needs to be be checked Individually.  We recommend MWR's Velocity Stacks (MWR-VS-600) for Best Performance!

Installation Instructions:

Remove fuel tank to obtain access to the airbox ensure all pipes and leads are released before fully lifting the tank. The fuel pipe release is located on the left hand side behind the frame. The fuel pump lead is fitted directly into the fuel pump on the right side of the fuel tank base.

Remove all the retaining screws from the lid of the airbox please note the sensor on the left side  has a serrated washer.  Remove the air pressure sensor lead from the front of the airbox top and place it in a safe location.

Remove the original MV Agusta air filter, this can be achieved by simply cutting the filter into two parts if no longer required, alternatively  remove the three bolt retaining the air tube to allow the original filter to be removed.

You are now ready to install the MWR  air filter. You will see opposite the two air intakes two protruding  flat vertical plates. The plates are to be used to secure the MWR filter into its correct design location with the dome to the rear of the air box (WSBK filter).

Place the MWR filter into the location pictured , ensure the location points on both sides of the filter and securely mounted into the two vertical plates by dropping it into position , the four bent hooks on the filter must hold the filter in place. You will see a lip on the base of the airbox ensure the filter is placed at the front to complete the fitment of the filter fully.

Once completed simply reverse the procedure.
