Alpha Racing Type 5 CR Race-Kit engine

The Type 5 CR (Customer Racing) kit engine complies with FIM STK regulations.
For this engine, we use hand-picked parts from the BMW Motorrad series production in order to achieve the highest level of quality and performance.

Production
The Type 5 kit engines are produced in our alpha Racing engine department on the basis of K66 standard engines. Our specialists disassemble the engine and then reassemble it with specially selected parts and product groups. All engines are built by hand and all modification work fully documented.

What special treatment process do the Type 5 kit engines undergo?
Before and during assembly, many parts are measured, weighed and documented. For example, the valve timing is optimized, the weights of the connecting rod and piston sets are matched and a matching cylinder head gasket is installed.
After assembly, the engine is run in on the engine dyno for several hours in a defined sequence, followed by a final performance measurement. The engines are only sealed and delivered to the customer once the desired performance level has been achieved. The engines can be used directly on the racetrack; the customer no longer needs to run them in.

Exhaust:
The exhaust is not included in the scope of delivery.
Due to the successful cooperation with Akrapovič in terms of power delivery, we recommend using a suitable complete system from Akrapovič for the M 1000 RR.

Motorsport ECU and electronics package:
BMW Motorrad Motorsport has developed the M Race Calibration Kit. This package includes special features such as extended electronic adjustability thanks to the new M Race Calibration software as well as MoTeC solutions for data recording and dashboard. These electronics have been developed to comply with FIM regulations and can be found in the Accessories tab.

Mileage:
The recommended mileage before service is 3,000 km.
